I swear my kid is not wearing makeup.
I know many of you are probably curious about our setup so here’s a silly picture from my son’s birthday.
I’m standing in the entrance and you can see the top bed with the protective screen setup (to keep the kid from tumbling out at night). Below is the couch/table that turns into a bed with a bit of maneuvering. Immediately to the right of the door is the kitchen counter with a tiny sink and tiny stove top (no oven). Next to that is the fridge and above all that several counters and shelves. The benches also hide storage space underneath them and there are cabinets next to the top bed, which makes for a small sleeping area but a fair amount of storage space all in all.
On the left, out of sight, is a wardrobe and the bathroom. I’ll post pics of that later.
Honestly, I expected a lot worse, older and dirtier and I was pleasantly surprised with what we have. The main thing that bugs me is that the window won’t open so we’re completely dependent on the a/c provided right now, which can be a bit weak at times, not to mention that it adds to the general claustrophobic feeling of living in such a tiny space. I’ll keep you updated on how it is to actually travel in this space and more pictures will be forthcoming as well.
The last few nights I started noticing a moldy smell in the bedroom and I thought it was from the apple core my son had left out. I threw it away but the smell only got stronger. Tonight I found this. He’s been taking apples up with him every night, eating half of one, then stashing it behind a dresser. There were also half-eaten bananas and it looked like he’d been doing this for a good while because there was about five pounds of very expensive fruit rotting and oozing.
If you ever get the urge to have children, come back and look at this.
Husband and kid in 07. Matvey was such a fattie! He lost all of that chub once he started stretching out. I’m hoping he’ll be taller than both of us, at least 1.90m.
My son on his first flight at nine months old. In a few weeks we will go on another ten hour plane trip. He’s a pro by now at 4 years old and about ten flights under his belt.
